In the heart of Lyon...

A major cultural and economic centre in France, known for its historic architecture, thriving culinary scene and important role in the development of the European silk trade, the city has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its well-preserved Renaissance buildings and its historical importance as a hub for international trade and diplomacy. With more than 30 routes in Lyon alone, JOOKS allows you to explore the capital of Gaul without missing a beat.

For those who are in a hurry, Les essentiels de Lyon (Lyon's Essentials) will give you a great overview of the city's must-sees: the Vieux-Lyon district and its traboules, Place Bellecour and its famous equestrian statue of Louis XIV, or the slopes of the Croix-Rousse district and its Roman amphitheatre.

Place Bellecour

The more adventurous will take our Le Grand Lyon route: over 15 kilometres through the streets of the City of Lights, from the Basilica of Fourvière to the Parc de la Tête d'Or, ideal for an in-depth visit.

If you are more of a challenge person, JOOKS offers several urban trail routes with lots of hills, stairs and technical passages, as well as bike routes, to discover the city in a different way.

...or all around the Metropolitan Area

Beyond Lyon's inner city, the metropolis extends over more than 500 km², up to the borders of the Ain and Isère departments. There's plenty to discover if you've done your homework in Lyon or if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre for a while. Whether you decide to stay in the immediate suburbs or go several dozen kilometres away, you are bound to find something to satisfy your curiosity or your desire to get away.

Although La Mulatière is usually a town that you drive through, it is still worth a visit. The smallest of the 59 communes of the Metropolitan Area, it is nevertheless not the least surprising. Our route La Mulatière, unusual by nature, will allow you to learn more about this small town, located at the confluence of the Rhône and the Saône.

For nature and history lovers, head for Saint-Genis-Laval, south-west of Lyon. A green and attractive town thanks to its many parks and green spaces, the commune also boasts a very rich historical heritage. Let us guide you on our Star Gate route, which will take you to the former Lyon observatory, which made the town famous, but also to the Beauregard castle and the Villa Chapuis.

North of Lyon, the small commune of Rochetaillée-sur-Saône will seduce visitors with its idyllic setting. Set on the banks of the Saône, the town will reveal itself during our route Walk around Rochetaillée. You can discover the Automobile Museum and the pretty guinguettes on the banks of the Saône, while enjoying a superb view of the Monts d'Or.

Grand Parc Miribel Jonage

Our two Run for Planet routes, one of 5km and one of 10km, will take you to discover the Grand Parc Miribel Jonage, nearly 2200 hectares of preserved nature, at the gates of Lyon. In addition to a great breath of fresh air, you will enjoy anecdotes and ecological challenges defended by the first French eco-designed race for the planet. So, on your marks, get set, take action!
