Paris
Ranked in 2017 as the "most elegant city in the world", the French capital is the architectural and cultural symbol of the country. To run in Paris is to live in the heart of this fashion capital filled with world-famous monuments, from the Eiffel Tower to the Arc de Triomphe.
Known as the "City of Light", Paris shines brightly by day and night, providing runners with a splendid panorama. Most French rulers since the Middle Ages have been keen to leave their mark on a city that has never been destroyed, unlike other European capitals. Running or walking, you will discover the Ile de la Cité, on which stands the magnificent Notre Dame. But also the nearby Conciergerie and the Louvre Palace. While preserving the imprint of the past in the layout of certain streets, Paris has developed a homogeneous style over the centuries and has been able to modernise its infrastructure. The current organisation of the city owes much to the work of Baron Haussmann during the Second Empire. The famous politician had most of today's most frequented streets built, including the Boulevard Saint-Germain, in the heart of the Latin Quarter. During your run, you will discover the architectural wonders, hidden passages and sumptuous gardens that abound in the capital. While admiring the sometimes little-known splendours such as the Statue of Liberty on the Ile aux Cygnes.
